Yesterday saw the first of the Belpark Target race of 2017 and what a showing form all the members racing and supporting, Carlow hasn’t seen a sea of green like that since winning the All Ireland B Football Championship in 1994. Racing 795 put on a great showing with a seamlessly organised race once again.
A whooping 55 Belparker’s plunged into the Barrow many of which were taking part in their very first race. The rain held off for the most part and the water wasn’t too cold but the strong winds made the return leg of the bike exceptionally difficult.
The results were celebrated with a lovely meal in Rathgar organised by our Social Officer Bago.
As this was a National Series race their were overall, club and age group prizes up for grabs. There were some notable achievements from the results that I’ve noted below. But for many more the achievements were more personnel, especially those taking part in their first race so a big well done to everyone. I’m sure I’ve missed some important results so please feel free to comment below and add to the list of achievements.
