Hi All,
We're glad to announce that the Bike TT series is back and it's bigger then ever.
This year we are partnering up with both Pulse triathlon club and Piranha Triathlon club. Each club will be responsible for running one race. Belpark will be organising the first of the series on March 11th. The location will almost definitely be blessington lakes again this year. All dates below:
Sunday March 11th (20km) Sunday March 25th (20km) Sunday April 29th (40km)
How it works: People register for the event through the members area (I will let everyone know when this is open). There will be a small charge of about €2 to cover ambulance cover. You will provide a rough estimate of your finishing time (don't worry if this is ends up being inaccurate). A final starters list will be published ahead of the event with people going off at 20second intervals.....then it's you against the clock for the next 20kms.
For anyone new to triathlon this is a fantastic way to get some practice in on the bike in a race situation regardless of experience or ability. You can then see how you improve over the series
Most importantly: We are going to need to supply the bulk of the marhsals for the first event. We will need people for registration, managing the starters line, out on the course, and most importantly, manning the tea/coffee and cake stand
If you are available to help please get in touch below or email me on assistanttraining@belparktri.ie
I'll keep the updates coming as I have them
Ian

For anyone that would like to race in the TT on the 11 March you can book your place in the members zone. It is a free booking but there will be a cost of €2-3 on the day to cover ambulance costs.
Please note that If you race this race it would be expected that you marhsal another race to give those Marshalling this race the opportunity to race next time

Hi All, Just a reminder that the inter club bike time trial is open for booking In the memberzone of the website. We want to have as many members involved as possible so please get on and book your spot www.belparktri.ie/class-booking/For anyone that hasn't done one of these before they are a great way to test your bike ability early in the season. The course and environment is very beginner friendly with decent surfaces and very few hills involved. The course is fully marshalled and sign posted If you sign up please email an estimated time for a 20km TT to training@belparktri.ie If you are really unsure what your time would be get in touch with a guess and we'll go from there Thanks Ian

It was a great event and really good to get a reference time for future outings. It was perfect for all levels of experience. Newbies like myself and a few others started off proceedings before some higher level competitors dusting off the TT bikes, took to the road. Great to get on the road with all levels and get used to racing, at whatever pace you want! If you haven't raced before, this is the perfect starting point. Highly recommend this for all in this years NTT group and also anyone new to the club. Great to meet other club members also! There was also biscuits and brownies, so really there's no excuse not to have a go!

Hi Everyone, I just wanted to get in touch with everyone who has signed up for the TT and cover off a few pieces of important information - The Race starts from the rowing club (not the sailing club) goo.gl/maps/bsaakyLPWcN2
- The course is two 10km laps of the lower section of the lake
- Registration is open at 8.45am and it will close at 9.15am, we will then have a race briefing after which we will get people in order with the slower cyclists going out first at 9.30am with a cyclist going out at 20 second intervals from here onwards all the way to the fastest predicted cyclists.
- Everyone taking part must bring the following:
- €3 in change (this covers the ambulance fee)
- TI membership card
- Bike in good working order
- Bike Helmet
Entry will remain open until the morning of the event so if you still wish to take part please drop me an email on training@belparktri.ie Also in the good natured spirit of the an inter club race, there will be tea/coffee and cake afterwards so if you have any nice baked goods to bring along it would be much appreciated Looking forward to seeing you all on Sunday Thanks Ian & Conal
