Hi all, I guess many of you have had the intention to go for a swim at the local pool and find out there is a pool party or some recreational swim. Many leisure centre/pools or gym may limit the 25m lane for early and late ours only.
So does anyone know swimming pools which have 25m lanes most or all day long? During the week and weekends Apart from college pools: UCD,DCU ...
They could be classified in North & South side
Because I live around Rathmines, I have done a small research and found the following:
Mexpil, Sussex Rd --- 20m pool with lanes for only adult during week and everyone at weekend
Health & Fitness club, waiting St --- Gym with 25m pool. Lanes most of the day though it seems you need to be a member
GymPlus, 2 locations: Ratfarham & city centre --- Gym with 25m pool. PAYG option. They seem to limit the time for children in the pool
Any other pools where people could swim/train most of the times?

For summer months, my pool is the Irish Sea. Always plenty of space, always open and it's FREE! Public pools can be good in mornings/evenings. I use DLR Meadowbrook, 25m pool with lanes from 6.30am to 9am each weekday. Always quiet with 4 people max in the lane. Another option is Markievicz pool in city centre.

What about the pool in Rathmines run by the council. It’s pretty good and they run Tri specific sessions as well.

I'm in Ben Dunnes gym in Kimmage (Charisle) 3 lanes 25m pool all day but there is no fast/slow lanes which can be a bummer great bunch of swimmers have sets every day some at 07:00/13:00 and 18:00 very freindly and all are welcomed how can stick the pace which can be anywhere from 1:40/100m to 1:25/100m it costs me €250 for a years membership cheap with no frills

+1 for the swan in Rathmines,
Deidre runs a triathlon specific swimming class on Monday morning's and Thursday evening's. Has the patience of a saint.
They have a mother and baby session on the pool later on a Monday, so sometimes the pool can be like a warm bath on a Mondays. Not suitable for a hard swim set.

Belvedere College have masters swim sessions weekday mornings 7-7.45am, €7 entry, about 2000m sets, 5 lanes off different times ranging from 2:10/100m to 1:30/100m. Think they do some weekend sessions too.

I’m also in Ben Dunnes KCR.... 3 lanes available all day long ( 6:15 am -10pm weekdays 8:30- 5:30 on weekends). Other half of pool is non lane swimming. Never any real issue with overcrowding as most people are in for a few lengths only ......& full no frills gym for €250pa
