Thanks for the sea swim tonight guys! Feel great having had my first deep in the sea. I felt nauseous for a lot of it & dizzy getting out. Never thought you could suffer from motion sickness swimmimg. Anyone else suffer? Any tips to overcome this?

Hi Linda, yes it is actually quite common, happens to me when I get water in the ear, earplugs have worked for me quite well, or at this time of the year I wear a thermal cap with straps that cover my ears, rest is just getting used to open water swims

Hi Linda, yes as Britta outlines, those symptoms certainly sound related to inner ear so earplugs may be the answer or just acclimatisation- the more you do the easier it will get! Sorry the conversation was minimal at the end., chattery teeth not conducive to chitchat!

Ok great thanks for the advise guys. I'll get some ear plugs & a cap n hopefully next time will b better. Did still enjoy it, but think it would be hard to get on a bike straight after getting out. Not doing any sea tri's for a while so will try get out more & get used to it too as that's half the battle. Ha ha yeah wasn't really the time for chatting..needed to defrost in the car
