Seriously considering to do long distance next Year, not that I'm very good at this but hey if I don't try I will not know
So after going back and forth in my mind and looking into different Race options I once again came back to IM Mallorca and here is the help I need from People who have done a long distance race or actually from anyone with a clear head, which I don't have in this particular case . So here is my list of points I think are for and against that Race:
Good points :
Actually a relatively easy Bike route compared it with IM Austria who everyone claims is flat, in comparison Mallorca has really only one nasty Hill Extremely well organised, have done the half there and have experienced how well they do their Job . Amazing swim Ship my Tri Bike drives there and delivers the bike Hotels beside Transition Late sign up possible , it doesn't seem to sell out within a minute of opening I have experience from a 70.3 I did there last year
Bad points :
Potentially super hot, Weather seems to be a bit unpredictable Very likely non Wetsuit swim Bike section one nasty Hill which comes only after 110Km of riding Last Point why the hekc should I want to run a Marathon at the end
So please feel free to set my head straight and if anyone has experience with IM Mallorca and you have to add points or remind me what I have forgotten in my list

The atmosphere at the full there is great. If I was to do one it'd be this one.
Don't ask other people to convince you, sounds like you have your mind already made up and just want some validation - so in that vein I say go do it!

You will do most of your swimming without a wetsuit Rob so I wouldn't stress that part. I'm thinking of IM BARCELONA in October 2016. Seriously flat and should make for a fast time

OK I'm staying with my crazy idea of doing IM Mallorca, just watching the live coverage of IM Barca, don't think that I need the added stress of that run course

Hi Britta I didnt see any coverage whats up with the run course? Hi John, it is a good running course but most of it looks like very tight or through very derelict areas ,some of the "roads" are on sandy parts ,which are compacted so should be fine , so in reality I needed just a reason to confirm myself for Mallorca but still the run course is not a pretty thing in Barcelona

Several Irish did well there today though Britta. Eimear Mullen set a new Irish record. Brian McCrystal also set a blistering time.

The hill is fine Britta, it's the heat!!! Some Kona athletes recommend training in layers and using sauna as a prep for hot/humid conditions. Plus you have entire year to get ready!

most importantly is to read the book from Lee Gruenfeld "stumbling towards the finish line"
interesting training tips in there which includes : Stairmasters and Jumbo jet engines or swimming between 2 power boats, can really recommend it , surely will help ( and it will give a very good laugh )
