Hi everyone - I sent a survey request via email to all members this morning, looking for your help to make the Phoenix Park Duathlon Series 2016 a success. Please complete the survey and let me know any questions on marshalling. Once we get enough marshalls available for each date, I'll confirm specific roles & share the marshall briefing document. We're also planning a test event open to members to familiarise yourself with the course and event setup on Thursday 21st April. Any questions just ask here.

Thanks everyone who volunteered to be a marshal on 4th May. Over 50 people responded in total now, so I'll allocate marshals this week and share details next week. There are heads of sections, so you'll be assigned a role and that person will coordinate with you on the night. We'll share the marshal briefing document in advance. Any questions just ask.

Marshal briefing has been sent to over 35 marshals for Wednesday's race. Thanks everyone for volunteering. If you didn't get my email, let me know. We have enough marshals, so anyone else should race or come along and support everyone else. Weather is looking dry and milder than recent weeks. Padraig will be sending the race briefing to competitors tomorrow. Final preparations are on track, so looking forward to a successful evening for the club in the park.

Marshals have been confirmed for the Duathlon on Wed 1st June. Over 35 people have been assigned a role. Please check the document: 1. Check you are still available that evening. Most people from 6pm but traffic and registration marshals from 5pm. 2. If you're not listed, but would like to marshal, please contact me as people will drop out, so I'll need to reassign people. 3. If you're listed as a stand-by or a racer (at bottom), you are not required at this time, but I will revise marshal list next week and confirm if you can race.
My goal is to ensure if you volunteer for a race you can race the next or in July. So please every member should volunteer for one race and we can spread the workload.
Note we will also have a junior race at 6pm so may need some marshals for that.

Marshals have been confirmed for Wednesday evening - over 60 people helping out, so thank you very much. We still need more help for the junior race, so anyone racing or volunteering, please try arrive by 5.30 to help out even if it's just til 7pm. Marshals received the briefing document, timetable and role assignment last night. If not, let me know.

Our final duathlon is a week away, on Wednesday 6th July. We're hoping to continue building on the success of the May and June races by having over 200 competitors racing in the Phoenix Park. Thanks to all who've responded with offers to help as marshals/volunteers. I've allocated positions and emailed all who responded. However we're still 4-6 marshals short of required positions, so I'd ask anyone who hasn't responded to contact me directly on development@belparktri.ie as your help from 5pm to 9pm will really make a difference. This is a club run event, with funds invested back into members through training events, coaching, facilities, equipment, etc. Thanks, David

Hi everyone - I'm sure you've seen photos and results of last night's Duathlon. It was a great success, making it a trio of really good events in the Phoenix Park this summer. The reason we do this is to promote the sport, get people active and have a good time. For the club, it's a way of promoting our club, attracting new members and also making some money which we can invest in improving services to members. However it wouldn't happen without YOUR HELP - too many people to thank, but first up is Padraig Ruane who led the race sub-committee. Planning started back in December, so 8 months later it's a great feeling to be done. I really enjoyed organising the marketing, sponsorship and marshals. A huge thanks to over 60 members who helped out over recent months. We'll send out a formal thank you and email to get your feedback, as we want to think big about what we could do in summer 2017!
