The highly anticipated annual face off with Piranha will take place this Saturday. The scoring system is the same as last year with different categories and points available so that everyone racing can contribute to their clubs points. The winning club will be the club with the most points.
Highest average points for all club members using the NS scoring percentile rule but including CAT 1 members (5 points)
Highest average points for all female club members using the NS scoring percentile rule but including CAT 1 members (5 points)
Highest average points for all male club members using the NS scoring percentile rule but including CAT 1 members (5 points)
Lowest average T1 and T2 times of all club participants (3 points)
First female to finish (3 points)
First man to finish (3 points)
Fastest female and male split in swim (1 point per gender)
Fastest female and male split in bike (1 point per gender)
Fastest female and male in run (1 point per gender)
Fastest Female and Male in T1 (1 point per gender)
Fastest Female and Male in T2 (1 point per gender )
This means that every single Belparker will contribute to the Face Off, from our first to our last finisher. Transitions are also very important with points being available for the club whose members are on average quickest through T1 and T2 - so no making cups of tea after the swim or bike! For those who maybe are stronger in one discipline than the other, there is an opportunity to contribute to club glory by winning the fastest swim/bike/run or even transition split point.
Belpark won the inaugural face-off in 2014 and Piranha got revenge last year! So this will determine who has bragging rights for the next year. Any Belparker who has finished the race should walk back the course and cheer on those who are finishing behind you. It should make for a great atmosphere on race day and encourage everyone to race hard and push all the way to the finish line.
It is proposed to have the award ceremony and post race bash that night in Sam's bar, post below to say if you can go and we can gauge if there is enough interest?
