Hi Britta & all, see note below just it, looks like there will be a lot less entries this year! Cheers, Frank
Dear Club Secretaries,
I am writing to provide you with some information about this year's Hell of the West Triathlon.
The ethos of the event revolves around hard, safe racing where all athletes, officials, marshals and stake holders show respect and dignity towards each other in order to enhance the sport of triathlon. It is run on a difficult course and no aspect of the race should be taken lightly.
With this in mind, and taking into consideration comments from past participants and our own club members, the organisers have limited individual entries in 2017 to 400 participants. We hope this will make the race a better experience for all participants, spectators, and the Kilkee community.
The first round of entries will open next Monday, January 2 at 9am through Sports Timing. A link will be provided on our club website (www.limericktriathlon.com) and Facebook page in the next few days. The second round of entries will open later in January (tentatively scheduled for the 16th, but final date and time will be posted when finalised). Relay entries will open separately in February.
The cost of this year's race is 90euro, inclusive of fees. Transfer of entries will be allowed until June 1, 2017. If a number of club members want to swap entries you can let us know as a group, as long as everything is completed by the 1st June.
Should you have any questions, please don't hesitate to get in touch. Wishing you all the best this holiday season and for the year ahead.
Yours in Sport, Hell of the West Race Committee Limerick Triathlon Club
