Hi All, Just looking for some advice on pedals and bike shoes. So far I've been plodding along using flat pedals with cages but I think it’s time to upgrade to cleats...! I’m not looking for top of the range, just something decent that will get me through a few races. Could anyone give me recommendations on what exactly I need, and what should I be spending? Thanks a mill, D

Hi D, I would also definitely purchase tri-specific bike shoes (generally have a single velcro strap, easy to open/close) They might be slightly dearer but well worth the investment with time saved in transition!
Make sure you go for a spin a couple times, practice clipping in and out at traffic lights etc, before you bring the new shoes on group spin!

Great, thanks Ellen. I expect there'll be a few falls alright......, but hopefully it won't take me too long to get used to them!
