Attendees: All Marshalls, this Thursday, 7pm in the Phoenix Park
As with last year, we are going to run a test-event in which the marshals will get the chance to train on the same course as the race. This will give you a chance to see the course from a participant's perspective and give the section heads valuable (race organiser Fergus O'Dowd, safety officer Padraig Ruane, head of reg Ellen Murphy, head of transition Philip Smith, head of bike Rob Dagg, head of run David Power, head of finish and timing Helen French myself - head marshal), feedback on the course. We're running this event on Thursday April 23rd. Meet up at 7pm sharp at the north-west corner of the 15 acres area (see attached map). Bring your runners and bike gear. On the night we'll be sending you on the full 2.7km Run1, the 12km Bike and the 2.7km Run2. This is a training event not a race but will be a lot of fun and will be invaluable in helping us the real thing goes smoothly. Feel free to get in touch if you've any questions and see you on the 23rd! Kevin Keane
There is a sizeable pot hole not deep but is wide to the right as you approach corner coming from Acres road side. Just be careful in case adrenaline takes over and someone wanders to far over! It looks like they decided to cover all the other potholes but left this one behind!
Thanks to everyone who came out for the test event this evening - it was very useful from our perspective - hopefully it was fun for the marshals too. We will be in touch shortly with the official marshalling plan
