Hi, I see that there's a few Belpark members in for the above race next year. I hope to share training tips and have a discussion here along with grouping together members for training if that suits certain people. Anyone however racing long next year can also get involved here.

Lads, those going to Barcelona. Should we book accommodation now or after Christmas?? I know that from IM Austria I stayed close to the event and centre of the town and it meant not having to rent a car. Views please

Also, who's using Ship my Tribike or who's bringing a bike box? I'm planning on using a bike box again.

Hi Andrew, personally I'm a big fan of ShipMyTribike, last year when I did the 70.3 in Majorca there was one girl and the Airline had managed to loose her bike box in which She also had put her Wetsuit.

Ouch that's never good Britta. I used a bike box before for Austria and had no problems. Guess it's up to each airline. Giving Shipmytribike the bike may mean not having it for 2-3weeks before the race though not sure exactly how long you've to hand it in before the race.

I used them for zurich and gave it to them the weekend before the race. That said they didn't get a permit to park at transition so I had to take a 25 minute train ride to collect and drop off (at my own expense) I wasn't impressed and they didn't seem to care when I complained afterwards. That said I'd probably still use them again as I don't have a bike box.

Sorry to hear! Ya, I've emailed them and will see what they cost and make a decision then based on finances. I've got access to a free bike box so think I'll be using that if its not expensive on the plane again.

Bike box carriage would be 100 return, box rental about 50 so I figured for only 50 quid more. Id paid the fee for 'one less thing to worry about' and as i didnt want the hassle of reassembling the bike there as I was short on time. I was ropable when I was told casually I had to take a 9km train ride in 34 deg heat to collect it and then again to drop it off. Definitely would have been better off with the box.
