There are a few Belparkers going for (very) quick sea swim this Sunday if anyone's interested. It is the inaugural winter swim event and we are planning to dip in at least once a month between now and May (we may not be reporting back on our progress on that one...). Wetsuits of course allowed, but discouraged (there may be taunting). 3.30 at Seapoint (post below if you are interested so we know to look out for you).
Not an official Club event, just some people jumping into the sea for the craic. All welcome.

I was nearly blown away running so im guessing it's pretty choppy. Probably too choppy for me. Lovely and mild though!

For December's outing, Belpark's Blue Bits are planning on doing the 'Polar Plunge' in aid of Special Olympics. Saturday December 12th at 12pm or so at 40 Foot. Entry is €15 and they ask that you raise a further €35 in sponsorship. Details and entry can be found on the link below. It will definitely be Christmassy, it will definitely be cold and it will definitely be good craic. Just the thing to get you in the mood for the Christmas party that evening. Post below if you think you'll be there so we can look out for you. www.specialolympics.ie/WAYSTOGIVE/FUNDRAISINGEVENTS/PolarPlunge2014.aspx

I have a few sponsorship cards for the event if anyone is interested. Even if you can't make the swim it would be good to try and get a few quid for a worthy cause. I can bring them to a few sessions if anyone would like one.

Hi Conal, got actually a mail in work today somebody is willing to sponsor me , didn't even say beforehand that I will do it, guess I'm just known as the crazy one , so yes if you are on Wednesday or Friday morning in the UCD than I would grab a card from you

Hi Britta,
I'm actually taking a 3 week break from swimming ( the other shoulder this time!) but I'll give the card to someone at Turbo and they can pass it on, will that work?
Thanks,
Conal
