Website down since noon today - webmaster Joe is aware and raised a ticket with support, so hopefully it's back soon. Weekly news delayed as a result.

Hi all. Yes, the hosting company seems to be doing an upgrade to their servers and it's clearly not going as smoothly as any of us want. As Dave mentioned, I've raised a support ticket and will let everyone know when we're up and running again.
Apologies for the inconvenience, Joe

Hi everyone, I am having ongoing problems with our website performance and availability and I've been working with the hosting company to try to resolve the issue. They currently have the problem narrowed down to a different website that's running on the same physical server as ours, and that site is consuming all available resources. There are two courses of action going forward: * either they suspend the other site and keep it offline until they get their act together, or * they move our site to a different server
I'm due back a call within the hour to hear the findings of their investigation and, more importantly, what they plan on doing to resolve it. In the event that we have to move servers, this takes about 4 hours (from the time they start), but it will be fixed today/tonight either way.
Apologies for the inconvenience, but these things happen sometimes..
Joe

ok, here's the update. Our site happens to be on a server that is shared by 250 other domains and some of these domains are 'heavy users'. So what I've agreed with our hosting company is that they should move us away from that (as opposed to moving the heavy sites). As a result, we will be moving to a brand new server tonight. There may be some disruption to service starting at around 8-9pm and last for about an hour. The good news is that there are only 2 other domains on the machine that we're moving to, so we shouldn't have any more performance issues for quite a while.
Unfortunately, for those of you who have belparktri.ie email addresses it means you will need to edit the mail configurations you have. The email addresses remain the same (e.g. chair@belparktri.ie) but the incoming/outgoing server used in the configuration will change. I'll send full details of what and how to change these to anyone affected.
Regards, Joe
