At the HOTW I have seen these on Dee's and Rob's bikes. According to them they run smooth and speedy.

Hey Britta,
I’m far from being a bike expert but I got the Planet X wheels recently and thought I got a great deal.
Used them at HOTW at the weekend and definitely got up a good speed (in parts....) – no complaints so far but looking forward to being properly fit so I can give them a good test!
My groupset is 11 speed Ultegra so can’t offer any advice on SRAM I’m afraid.

Sram/Shimano are interchangeable so don't worry about that aspect. (just don't buy campag freegan and you'll be fine!)
Those planet X ones are grand. Maybe a little on heavy side, but they saved me 5 mins on last year's HOTW time.*
*lack of training means it must be the wheels right?

Indeed I am - they are fast and smooth and straight - 1000km done and a fair few potholes hammered and still going well.
