I am looking at buying a new bike- the 2 options at roughly the same price are:
- Trek Emonda S5
- Lapierre Sensium 500 TP Lady
Has anyone heard any good/ bad things about either of these bikes?
One shop recommended a 54cm frame for the Trek bike and a different shop said a 48cm frame for the Lapierre, I'm 5ft7, does the frame size vary that much between brands? (the 48cm frame was the last one in stock so am slightly suspicious!)

Hi Ariane im 5ft8 and have a 54cm frame and at my bike fit that the club organised(highly reccommend btw) I was told I could possibly get away with a 52cm frame so the 48cm frame I would be very wary of.

I have the Trek Emonda S6.....just a different groupset from the S5. I have had no issues with it and really like it. No experience of Lapierre I'm afraid.
In terms of size I agree 48cm frame sounds too small for you. Name and shame the shop that tried to sell you that. (Unless you have exceptionally short legs for your height! 😆)

Ariane - nice to meet you this morning. I only twigged afterwards that you were the person looking for advice on bikes a few weeks ago. I hope the Trek is working out well for you?
