Hi All,
The triathlon training programs for February are now on the coaches area, in the member's zone on the website.
As always there is a plan for novices, for those who want to train once a day and those who are training twice a day.
In order to gauge members' interest in these plans and ensure you are getting good use from them, can you let us know if you are following them by posting below.
Please also mail training@belparktri.ie if you want to give any additional feedback.
Thanks,
Conal and Ian

Trying to follow them, adjusting when the rest of life gets in the way. They are a good starting point.

Great to have thanks Belpark! I adapted it to suit me but overall have found it very helpful. Especially understanding the efforts we should be training at! Would it possible to have plans for longer distance also, i.e. Half distance? Also should our club cycles on Sunday be focused on the HR effort as on the plans?

Hi Conal and Ian, I am aiming to follow the plan this month. Will there be new swimming sessions added for february. I assume the swim sessions 1 and 2 referenced are from the swim drills issued at the start of January.

Hi folks glad to see most people are finding programs helpful swims seis for people not partaking in Belpark coached swims are the same for Jan and Feb it is important to try master the tech drills as these are crucial to energy efficient swims for tri races. There has been no talk of programs for longer distance but a general increase in distances in all seis with efforts staying similar duration and intensity would help adapt it for longer races especially the bikes at the weekend. Long runs I would keep similar for moment.

Hi folks
Hope training going well Just to clear up in case any confusion the seis intended for today Sunday 4th Feb was same seis as last Sunday hence > which was intended as an arrow. However as explained to group yesterday the last week was intended as a recovery week so if people as anyway tired or have anything clashing with today family plans etc feel free to take rest day or easy short spin which ties in with recovery week. If people have any questions on plans on their release at start of month if they can look in advance and post any quierys here in advance of seis I can answer
Take care and happy training John

Hi John (or Conal/Ian), Asking for a friend - If one was jumping back in after too long a winter break do you go straight to one of the plans or is there a recommended build or do you do the sessions but do them for shorter time or less effort? Thanks Frank

Hi John (or Conal/Ian), Asking for a friend - If one was jumping back in after too long a winter break do you go straight to one of the plans or is there a recommended build or do you do the sessions but do them for shorter time or less effort? Thanks Frank Depends what races they are targeting if late in year well then they can jump back couple of months and do a base phase It also depends how expierenced athlete is and how much mileage they have built up in legs over the years which may make them capable of jumping on the program as it stands If we assume not an established athlete given the question being asked and wants to target main season I would go back to work volumes of Jan and slowly over next few months try to catch up with volumes on current programs Hope helps
