**Please note that in the email I sent last night about the TT, I accidentally wrote that the route would consist of 2*20k loops around the lake. It's actually 2*10k loops. See you Saturday!**
Hi All,
This year we have teamed up with our friends at Pulse Triathlon Club to run a joint TT series to prepare for the season ahead. It will be an ideal chance to for athletes old and new to get a few good time trials in ahead of race season.
The series will consist of two 20k trials and two 40k trials, so if you are planning either sprint or Olympic races, you are covered for both distances.
Of course, everyone is welcome to enter all four races, and for those who do three or more races, there are league points to be won and there will be prizes for winners in the following categories:
Best Male overall
Best Female overall
Best Belpark Male & Female
Best Pulse Male & Female
If you are new to triathlon, doing a TT can seem a bit daunting, but they are great fun and a brilliant way to meet new members, usually with coffee and food (probably in Russborough House) after we finish.
The first race will be on Saturday April 8th at 8.45 am starting at Blessington Rowing Club and going twice around a loop of the lake. If you are going to attend you need to confirm by booking a (free) ticket through the member zone: www.belparktri.ie/member-zone/
RACE SCHEDULE
Updates to the following table will be made closer to each event.
Race Distance Date Status
1 20k 08/04/17 Online booking available
2 40k TBD TBD

4 40k TBD TBD

40k TT (41.5km)

On the day, you will also need your TI card for registration.
This year, we are putting extra focus on helping novice cyclists and new members for the first race, so please do come along and give it a try.
This is not a race and is open to all levels. The only requirements are a road worthy bike and a helmet.
Each person will set off at timed intervals to avoid congestion and drafting… at the end you will receive your time.
You’re racing yourself so no need to worry about what level you are at currently. It’s all about finding where you are and improving from there.
There will be plenty of support and all levels of cyclist will be there giving it a go, so don’t feel that you may not be ready – there’s no time like the present!
Hope to see you all there,
Conal and Ian
