Another option is to approach snow and rock in dubdrum- they will price match with online prices and I bought my turbo trainer there for a 100 euro discount. No reason they won't price match clever training for the 910xt

Thanks for all the info as this is all very useful for me as well. I realised this morning after my run that I fried my Garmin (the second one in just over a year!). Granted the first one was second hand and the one I killed this morning was a lower quality unit, but still so annoying!
I was going to order one from Canada, but since I will be in Dublin for a few years it's probably best to just get it here especially if it will cost the same (or close) anyways.
If you see any more deals online or in stores (within Dublin city limits), please post as I will need to purchase a new unit within the next few weeks.
And thanks to Sharon for starting this thread.

Hi guys can anyone give me advice on whether to get a 910xt or a swim. I have a 310xt and can get a swim for about 100 Euro here or a 910xt with a hrm for 200 Euro. I'm looking specifically for pool metrics but im wondering if its worth upgrading my 310xt. Any thoughts welcome!

Stick all 3 into the comparison table here and see what each has/misses to help inform decision. www.dcrainmaker.com/product-comparison-calculator?type=watch&ids=3080%2C3086%2C3077#resultsIf it was me I'd prefer 1 watch that does all 3 well. Rather than 2 watched that do things well. That said, I only use the 910 for running, races and open water swims. And a 810 for cycles. Ask yourself will you be using the watch(s) for and see if that influences you. Is it just for swimming, or will you be using 1 or 2 for racing? I'm sure D can tell you how awkward it is to function 2 watched while opening wetsuit entering T1 ;D

I'm back in Dublin Jan 9th, I'm away from Perth for about a week from today but will be back on the 7th so will be able to pick one up if you want to send money to my Irish bank account before then. Let me know! Kane.Ronan@gmail.com. it's watch plus hrm, not the full tri bundle. Check it out online.

Not really related to this tread but a money saving tip ,If you damage your Garmin soft HRM strap you can get the unit to work with a Polor soft HRM strap (€20) saving around €20 to €40 depending on the Garmin strap

Polar is supposed to be a better heart rate strap and will work fine with Garmin. I've experienced problems with heart rate skip with Garmin and also the Garmin HRT strap doesn't measure under water.

Hi Andy would that mean if I use a polar strap with the Garmin sensor it would measure the Hearts rate even with a Garmin watch ?

That's more to do with the limitations of ant+ ability to transmit underwater than anything else isn't it?
AFAIK some polar and suunto hrm/straps will record hrm data in real time but the data is stored remotely and needs to be downloaded later on pc, it doesn't connect directly with watches. Happy to be corrected though.

Brirta, yes. Actually the strap has just the sensors, the device connecting with the watch is the HRM.

Not sure Britta but I think it might work but you'd have to do some more research
