Hi,
I am going to be buying a wetsuit soon and was wondering if anyone could offer any advise regarding types, brands, price points, etc. I know that there is a certain amount of personal preference involved, but any tips would be appreciated. Also if anyone knows somewhere that has a good selection to try on could they let me know? Thanks, Sinéad

Hi Sinead, my personal preference is Irishfit, they have a good range and you can try them on in the Shop, something Wheelworx is not offering they will refund but you can't try it on. In Base2Race you can apparently try them on and go into their Endless pool but not sure if I want to spend that much money just to be in the pool . If you know which size and model you want than it might be a good option to shop online Swimcyclerun for example

Hi Sinead, I bought one in B2R last year and found the advice and especailly the chance to try in the pool very good (they seemed happy to let me swim as long as I wanted). I think the brand selection is fairly limited (to ZeroD...might be wrong) but that was fine for me. As far as I know there are only 3 price points in that range - entry, mid and mega. I bought my first tri wetsuit online (just from the size guide) and I would say beware of a false economy. Good luck with it.

Sinead, SwimCycleRun.com often sell off old stock at great prices. It's luck of the draw if they have your size but they can be great value. I bought an Orca and found the size guide accurate. Ciaran

Sinead you swim fast enough without a wetsuit! +1 on the orca. I got a TRN model from wiggle size 7 maybe?? and it fitted pretty much as per the guide.

I Love my sailfish one and i got it in B2R. I found the endless pool very good, at least i knew it fitted me and i was comfortable in it before i bough it. I think probably worth the extra cost.

I bought one online following the guide and it didn't fit at all!!!! Tried various brands and still didn't find the one. It is worth trying them on, cycle superstore also have some (Orca) to try on but don't expect much help there Base2race is really good but above my price range, Irish Fit has wide selection of tri suits and the guys there are sound.

Irishfit were very good as Britta has mentioned. Sean the owner is happy to let you try and offers good advice on fit etc. I bought mine there and would again. Good value too relatively speaking of course. He also does repairs if you happen to damage your suit in the future.

I got my Sailfish one in B2R as well. I tried on 5 before I got a good fit. Yes it was expensive. Service was great though. I was there for well over an hour getting personal service so I felt I got good value overall.
