I need some Ideas what to eat on longish Distance Races or Trainings, I'm working on my Training for a Half Ironman but my Nutrition is a disaster, after some time I just can't stand the Gels or Sweet stuff any more and I would do anything for something hearty. My Stomach actually becomes a problem. What are you taking on long Rides / Run or long distance events ?

hi britta, taking into account that i'm not vastly experienced, i bring my own home made flapjacks, bananas, and 2 drink bottles 1 carb 1 water. i usually have a good bowl of porridge with agave syrup and some own made topping which consists of seeds nuts and goji berries sprinkled over the top. hope this helps

Britta Try my 5-ingredient oat/nut bars (no bake)flapjack-like things here: belparktri.proboards.com/thread/17/recipe-exchangeYou can vary the ratio of peanut butter to honey to adjust the sweetness. I make batches and keep them in the freezer. If I remember I'll dig one out and bring it to the pool for you.

The SIS (Science in Sport) products are good. They aren't sickly sweet like some of the other common gels.
