Hi, my insurance company(Allianz) will only insure a bike up to €2,500.00 under my home policy. To insure a bike over this amount will cost me between €400.00 to €600.00 (which is more than my car insurance)per annum with a bike specific insurance company. Does anyone know of a cheaper way to insure a bike?

You are probably as well off taking that 400 and putting it under the mattress and in a few years buy a new bike!

A €2,500 threshold is pretty good (I could only find €1,000). I agree with Rob - I couldn't find a cost effective product for bike insurance....invest in a good lock and keep your bike locked in your house/appt.

Hi Britta, Cyclesure are quoting €500.00 Can't justify spending that on bike insurance, I'm going with Robs option, but instead of the cash I'll put the bike under the mattress Thanks all for your advice.
