Hello any advice on Garmin would be appreciated. I can buy a refurbished Garmin 310 on ebay for approx. 145e. I will use it for run mostly but this model covers swim and bike also. Is this good value? I know there are more recent versions but these would be a complete waste of money for me.

I use a 310. It's a bit bulky when running but other than that it's grand. No swim metrics though so can't use it in an indoor pool and the GPS tracking is rubbish if you wear it on your wrist in open water.

Buy for what you need.
Do you just want to record run and/or bike? Or all 3?
Is it just for races? In which case swim metrics are largely irrelevant unless you want more data than the timing your chip gives you after the race.
If you elbow what you want the watch for it'll help narrow focus for options.

Thanks - it's for running but I am easily side tracked Rob!! It does look awkward though.

Is the Garmin Forerunner 220 waterproof? I found the FR60 and FR405 were running watches and not really waterproof for swims. I see FR220 for €222 on Eglobalcentral so looks good compared with 310 which is bigger and clunkier.
