Hi guys, A bit of a newbie question really... I have decided to get a saddle bag (and not just rely on being near a Luas to get home if I get a flat). How big should that be!? According to my favourite gear website (http://www.wiggle.co.uk/saddle-bags/) they come in "small", "medium", "large". I have seen a few in the shops (not just relying on pictures from the website to get an idea of the size ) but I am not sure about how big it really needs to be. What does "can fit a spare tube, tyre levers and a few other bits and bobs (e.g. keys)" translate as in size?! Help please? Thank you! Alex

I've a small topeak bag, fits tube, 3 levers, co2 cannister & adapter, 4 powerlinks, multitool, small bag with patches for emergency.
You don't need to get a big bag unless you are planning some touring/commuting where you need to store more than the bare minimum.
More importantly big bags look so uncool on a road/tt bike.

Agree, topeak is a good option. Medium a nice size also but would avoid large - it's huge.

Although, for the record, I currently ride a sturdy purple hybrid bike that regularly gets teased/friendly insulted by more experienced triathletes. (I don't care, it's pretty!!! ) So I think I still have some way to go before I attain the Cool level... Good to know exactly how much space a "small" bag has! thanks guys
