looks like that my allergies have finally fully caught up with me , basically I can't tolerate a pool that has chlorine in it, so guess need to sort out my Pool for the Winter ( beside the club sessions ) so guess need to find a way to get a UCD membership ( for someone who did not study in the past in the UCD ) , has anyone any recommendations how to get a deal with the UCD Gym ?

Britta, they might do a group deal if you can get a bunch of people from workplace/club/other clubs or a combination of these. Worth asking them.

I'd especially recommended to push them on the joining fee (normally 200, got it for 39!!!) If you find a graduate and join as a couple (don't need to be a couple - just a joint membership) , even better Side note :graduate is not only direct UCD student, they also honoured my course with LIA (or Institute of Bankers) so be worth looking to see if any exams done through work are awarded via UCD

Hi Britta, I actually joined ucd today and got a graduate rate with €49 joining fee (thanks Hana for the advice!) you are welcome to join with me under joint membership, it works out around €625 annual fee. I had intended to put the offer out there to anyone interested!

And britta I work there/processed Eloise's membership- they charge various different rates for joining, sometimes €199, sometimes €49 etc, Eloise did well! So strike a bargain with the membership team:)

Yep monthly DD is an option, works tiny bit more than a full year in advance but also gives you an option to cancel for a month (travel, injury etc)

I joined a while ago and also got a discount on joining fee, down to €39 and as with other posters they accepted my wife's Inst of Bankers course and processed the alumni membership too.

What is the issue with your allergies?? I used to get runny nose etc from swan when I was there but it's basically the chemicals staying in your nasal passage which basically gets inflamed. You can get a netti pot or manually clear your sinuses yourself and seems to solve the problem.

Not for everyone Bago, I had to take antihistamines for Terenure otherwise I'd be crying the entire day. Chlorine allergy is quite common tho
