What year is the bike, how many seasons has it been used? How much is a brand new one? Group set, shifters, wheels... What are they? These are good pointers to start with

I don't know the year of the bike. I used it yesterday for the triathlon in lough key and was satisfied with it. It didnt seem too used A brand new one was 3000 eur, i saw them for sale online for 1800 gbp
I couldnt tell you about shifters, gears etc
the man who rented me the bike in ballinastoe wicklow is willing to sell some of his road bikes. IM tempted

I'd pass if I was you. Do the research and then go shopping. You don't know what the groupset is, wheels, CF or Alu frame. Are you even sure the frame is the right size for you? Try out lots of new bikes in the shops first, to get an idea what makes/manufacturers suit you and what size you are. Then think about buying 2nd hand.
