Hi,
I remember last year there were a few folks availing of some sort of deal to get a reduced or removed joining fee for UCD gym. Are there any such deals going at the moment?
Alternatively there's a deal in the Ben Dunne Carlisle gym for €650 for 4 people. Does anyone have an interest in this?
My membership of BD is up at the end of the week and my waistline says I need to renew or join another gym asap. And then actually go to it.
Thanks,
Gav.

Howya Gav.
UCD do reduced rates if you are a UCD graduate. (you could probably swing the discount under sineads lia qualifications, it's how I got the reduction) another lad at work got the reduction because his wife was a graduate only, and he said they were going to join as a couple to avail of the reduced rate, but shed join the next month... 1 year later she hasn't joined and he still pays reduced single rate.
There is a sign up fee but they have offers every so often which waive it. You could chance your arm and see if they'll waive it. They did for us after I asked the week after the campaign ended. Best bet is to ask at the desk, they'll be flexible enough to get your money rather than have you walk away!

I'm interested in splitting a joint graduate membership to ucd with someone, only problem being I'm not a ucd grad - any takers/any way to make it work?!

Ps I've enquired before and a 'couples' membership doesn't necessarily need to be a couple - so long as there's 2 people joining they don't take account of gender, creed or any other persuasion!

Hi Gav, It might be worth looking at Rathmines Leisure centre costs 360euro for the year and you get use of the gym,all classes are free inc 4 masters swim sessions a week.

DLR has several public pools/gyms. A few of us use Meadowbrook in Ballinteer. It's great value, about €300. You can use gym & classes too for a little more. Easy access from 6.30am with space in lanes.

I've used the Mespil pool the odd time. 20m or so and a bit warm but pretty empty and PAYG. Handy if you're in the city centre.

Swan is a good gym, they have updated all the equipment since December but the pool is always very busy!
