Hi All,
The next Belpark beginners spin will leave Rathfarnham Club House at 9.00 am this Saturday, 5th of March. Ben Malone will lead the spin this week.
The aim is to be there at at 9.00 am so that we can assist with any queries and give some pointers to those who are new to cycling and to be on the road by 9.15 at the very latest.
Some information on the spin if you are new to the club:
This is an approx 2hr easy bike spin suitable for those new to triathlon. You must have previously completed at least 30km or a 1hr solo/group spin. Bring road bike, helmet, snack, drink, money, phone, spare tube and pump.
Please have a read (or re-read) of the Rules for Belpark Spins before attending spin too, just to make sure every is aware of cycling etiquette for group spins. If you have any queries or comments re any of the terminology/rules, please just post below too.

Please note that mudguards are mandatory in damp and wet weather as a courtesy to your fellow riders; please make sure to have proper mudguards that cover your full back wheel.
Please post below if you plan to come along, so we can gauge numbers and ensure we have enough leaders available.

hi there. im only after joining belpark last 2 weeks. been doing a bit of swimming and running but not on the bike. have been on turbo trainer twice in last few weeks for a bit but nothing mad. ive done about 15 triathlons in the past but not in 3 years. would like to try out the saturday morning session if possible. have no mud guards though (didnt realise i would need them until i read this post). what kind of route would ye normally do? ie many hills? thanks a lot. looking forward to it (kind of!)

I'll be at the club house and depending on your chosen route I may join the group spin. Otherwise, I'll head over and join Laura & Sarah doing hill repeats.

Hi Again Tomas,
Route will be flat-ish, pace will suit everybody and will likely be 50-60km in distance...might even stop for coffee! If you've done 15 tris I suspect you won't have much trouble.
Highly recommend coming along, it'd be a good opportunity to meet a few other members and have a general chat about the club.

hi ben (again) thanks very much for your help. being honest i will probably ive it a miss tomorrow. im going to go out myself and try do 30/40km as i dont think i will be up for 50/60 for another week or so(the ass wont anyways!) so i will try get two cycles in this week and then head with ye next saturday. thanks again.

Joe and I take it very easy. We've only done 2 short spins this year so far.

No worries Tomas. On the Saturday spin no one is left behind and the pace is always manageable for everyone so I'd really recommend just getting out. There is also a Time Trail tomorrow morning (Sunday) suitable for all levels. Its a 13km out and back course against the clock and most importantly it's followed by a social breakfast. Very welcome to join in or even just marshal and join us for coffee after. All details are on the site.
