Hi All, Our friends and our fellow Belpark Club Members Nikki and Lisa have undertaken a huge challenge to cycle 2,200kms around Ireland in under 132 continuous hours (5.5 days) and to try raise €100,000 for the charity Suicide or Survive
I am helping to organise a fundraising event for the afternoon of Sunday 07 August to help them reach their target which might be of interest to Belparkers. The event will consist of a sea swim at Killiney 3pm, followed by coffee & cake at 4pm Rathdown school . All welcome including family & friends, and you can come just for coffee & cake if you don’t fancy the swim part or vice-a- versa! We will be collecting donations on the day or you can donate online . Nikki & Lisa will be on hand to chat about their training & race goals and to raise awareness about the important work of SOS charity they are fundraising for. All money raised will go directly to the charity.
Exact details tbc in next week or so and I will post them up here and on facebook. If anyone wants to volunteer to bake some treats also that will be gratefully received!
Important to note also that this isn’t a formal Belpark training or a Belpark fundraising event & that swimmers (& cake-eaters) will be taking part at their own risk.
If you want to learn more about what and why Nikki and Lisa are have undertaken this huge challenge, have a watch of their video or follow them on facebook and twitter
You can post below if you have any queries or just want to register your interest in attending or contact me directly via PM
Thanks Ellen

Thanks for the responses all. Just to give an update that we are going to hold this event at Killiney Beach instead - it will be more convenient for parking/dart & Seapoint can get very busy on Sunday afternoons during summer time. We will be heading to Rathdown school afterwards at 4pm for the cake part. I have set up a facebook event page and 21 confirmed attendees already. The events official title is a Sociathlon (swim and cake)!! Please send me a PM to be added to FB event page if you aren't already.
