need some advice here, I seem to have a problem with my bike shoes when it is warm, not something we have to deal with very often in Ireland therefor I had nealry forgotten it but two years ago when I did my half Iron there the balls of my feet started to hurt really badly , have done many times similar distances in Ireland the problem never came up again but now in the Warm Weather here this problem is back after 60km or so the pain comes back, I know feet tend to swell after some riding but this seems ot be only a problem in the heat for me
Any tips or tricks for that ?
thanks

Your feet have probably swelled in the heat more than normal- so the trick is loosen off your buckle, straps, laces etc and that should allow more room for your feet.

If the balls of your feet are where the pain is, could it mean you need to move the position of your cleats?

Britta, your question is timely as I'm in Portugal and after about 2 hours my feet start cramping something fierce. I might try Chris' solution first and maybe wear no socks first to allow space for swelling.

Loosen the straps a bit during the cycle once you get going. You can try practice it one handed whilst free wheeling.
