Hey Rob, is the 810 any good for navigating unfamiliar routes? Or is the screen a bit small to use as a sat nav?

Stand is getting positive feedback on boards.
810 is grand for mapping (you'd need to update the base maps to get full benefit which is easy to do). I've used it for navigating in Ireland* and abroad and 99% of the time its great - you need to map the route online and send it to device first. It does turn-by-turn navigation, so beeps when you are about 200m from a junction and then displays a screen saying "Turn left in 200m <---". You can't do navigation on the fly though - ie I'm lost, bring me home. If you do get lost, trying to locate yourself on the garmin map is awkward given the size, I'd use google maps for that. the screen is big enough for 8 data fields though when cycling and easy to view and swipe while cycling. I only passed mine on because I got the newer 820.
*Of course I didn't tell the lads I brought out on the 70.3 reccee that I was following it, let them think I remembered all the turns etc because I'm great....

If you're lucky enough you can test if this weekend Swalsh, the new owner (that might be me) is sick so no cycling for sure 😕

Sound Hana, but I'm away for the weekend so no cycling for me. Get well soon!
