Great Britta - Sue Ryan had similar idea and we suggested Mince Pie cycle to bring along old gear. I'd be happy to pick stuff up on 17-Dec and drop out to support Simon Community.

Hi All,
Fantastic idea
I'm just sticking my two cents in here as I work for Dublin Simon community and would be happy to help support this. First and foremost Simon can use or make money from pretty much any type of textile or garment donation. If it cannot be used by our clients directly then it can be sold in our shops. If the shops cannot sell it then it can be sold in bulk for textile recycling e.g old races t-shirts which I'm sure you all have a wardrobe full at this stage. The only requirement is that it's dry.
If anyone decides to go the extra mile and buy winter woolies directly for those effected by homelessness then the best items you can buy is socks and underwear. We normally have enough hats, scarves and gloves but we never have enough socks and jocks and these can make such a huge difference
Anyway I hope the collection goes well and just let me know if you need any extra support
