Some feedback from my site about this seminar, in short it was brilliant, my head is stuffed with information's , especially the part about running style and the importance about S&C was very impressive to me

Agree with Britta. The talks were very impressive, relevant and captured advances in state-of-the-art in the cross-cutting fields of coaching and sports science. What was most impressive was that all three speakers managed to communicate the science in such a way that it could be applied immediately and integrated into existing coaching practices / strategies. It was also great to finish the day with the excellent practical demonstrations to reinforce some of the techniques and approaches introduced earlier in the day.
My head is also swimming with ideas but in a nutshell: 1. Listen to your coach / stick to the plan of not going above threshold HR in training (apart from some key sessions/ short bursts). I am no expert but from what I understood going anaerobic can significantly reduce your aerobic ceiling. Apparently it is very hard to improve V02max but threshold values can be increased by working at or just below current value. 2. Do not underestimate the importance of learning and practicing running drills -- this can significantly improve speed / efficiency. 3. S&C is essential: (1) surprisingly 3-5 sets of 3-5reps were recommended for weights; (2) Strength work could be more important than stretching for rehab or in injury prevention; (3) Ensure correct technique before advancing exercises or adding weights, e.g. learn to squat correctly with the aid of a chair and mirror -- checking that your spine is upright and that your hips, knees and ankles are aligned correctly before removing the chair.
Highly recommend these seminars for athletes and coaches. I am definitely hoping to attend the bike seminar on 15th February.
