Hey, anybody know the answer to this one - if T1 is at Dun Laoighaire and T2 is at Phoenix Park where race will finish, will we have to trek all the way back to Dun Laoighaire after the race to collect T1 stuff such as wetsuit etc? Or will they transport it to T2 for you?!Might not know the answer for Dublin specifically but how does it work for other IM events?

I believe you put you wetsuit goggles etc in a bag that will be transported to t2, there will be no need to go back to T1.

Our training officer Rob Dagg is finalising all of the details and we will post on website/email members regarding how to sign up - prob within next 24 hours. We just didnt want to overload the communication channels until duatlon was finished. However I can confirm that Dublin 70.3 training day is definitely going ahead on Sat 11th July and (stealing Rob's thunder) - delighted to announce that we have secured Liam Dolan - current Irish Ironman record holder as head coach.

Ellen, what about the Clonmel Tri suggested date? Will I confirm we will help them out or let them know that we are planning a training day on 11 if they wish to join?

Hi Hani,
With regards to Clonmel Tri, it is really dependant on the goodwill of someone to volunteer to help them out - it would be a nice thing to do, to be supportive of our fellow triathletes. Westport Tri have also emailed a similar request for weekend of 27/28 (Kevin Keane to post on discussion forum for volunteers shortly) Perhaps after doing the course recce on the 11th someone might feel comfortable with leading either the Clonmel (18th July) or Wesport group (28 July). However if anyone is interested in volunteering, give me an email on belpark@gmail.com first. We would need to check the small print of the Triathlon Ireland insurance & prob liaise with the other club to make sure everyone is properly insured for a joint club training session etc.
Unfortunately it wouldnt be suitable for another club to join us on 11th as we have a max numbers allowed in group to keep coach to athlete ratio safe and reasonable, and we obviously want to keep these spaces for Belparkers!!

Don't let me down guys, we need to help those lovely Westport people out! I'm racing in Belfast that weekend so I can't do it.

Yes it's slightly different, coming into Kilcock has changed a bit I think and also into the grounds of Maynooth University.

Not completely changed? Still looks to be going down the strawberry beds? Just the stretch into Lucan that's changed.

And is it now going back up into Clonee then over to Dunboyne? Clonee is cut from the previous version.
