There is a Swimming FAQ, let me know if there is any detail missing from that - www.belparktri.ie/swimming-faq/There is no refund at the end of the block. You need to use the credits within the block to avail of the credit. If you cancelled Monday you would have been sent a credit code on the confirmation text, when booking your PAYG place for tomorrow use that code in the coupon area when paying and the price will go down to zero. Cheers F

Hi Simon, yes payment for all swim sessions (both blocks and PAYG) are paid online. Payment is no longer accepted at the pool for PAYG. You can only use swim credits during the current block so credits cannot be carried forward to following blocks, the next of which starts in June. So you must use any credit you have or else you simply lose that credit. As far as I know, refunds will not be given unless there are extenuating circumstances and this would have to be on a case by case basis.
Since the booking system does not know you have credit, it will still require you to pay for any additional classes you book. However, you should have received a coupon code in your cancellation email. Use this coupon when you pay (it is valued at €8) and you will not actually be charged for the booking.
If you didn't receive the coupon, then email me (media@belparktri.ie) and I can sort you out.
Regards, Joe

With regards to prices? Is there any scope to reduce the PAYG fee back to €7 inline with the block booking? I know the extra €1 cost is prob due to PayPal fees but if one does 2 X PAYG swims a week that then costs €16 whereas say swim in Tallaght they only charge €6 a session. That's a saving of €4 a week! I know UCD it's a 50m pool & coach but perhaps people might have an opinion on this also.

Hi Andy, reducing prices is above my pay grade, but I'd just like to point out that the block price is €7.33 per session - not €7.00. And, yes, the extra €.67p is to cover PayPal fees. I imagine UCD charge higher fees for lane rental than Tallaght, and we also have to pay for coaching. We're definitely not trying to make a profit on swim sessions - just trying to break even..

Hi Andy, just to reiterate Joe's comments, this was discussed and agreed by the committee and as Joe said we want to ensure we cover costs associated with pool hire and coaching, rather than making a profit. The €8 PAYG cost is very reasonable when you consider the facilities (50m pool) and coaching expertise that members are getting. For example, Meadowbrook charges €6 and Swan Leisure charge €6.50 to use their pool (non-coached) on a PAYG basis. Block-booking is more cost-effective for members rather than PAYG so we would encourage members to block-book swim sessions. I hope this answers your query. Regards Helen

Thanks Frank. Is that 12 noon or 12 midnight? Any chance this could be changed to 9pm the night before and maybe enforce that people have to cancel before that time? 3 days before it not working for me , I keep missing the slots All the monday slots are gone already and there never seems to be late cancelations the night before?

Hi Eddie, The PAYG places get released at 12am which is 12 midnight, after that spaces become free as people cancel. Unfortunately demand is huge at the moment for the lanes. We have asked that all people cancel asap and latest before 9pm the night before and we are starting to follow up with people who are not doing so or indeed not cancelling. Everyone is to sign in going forward (people who were UCD members were often not), we are checking this list off versus the booked list. I too have missed out on a Monday session and all I can do is keep an eye out. Regards,Frank

Joe - same question as Simon from me - I want to book a Friday session, and I have cancelled 2 sessions in this period for Mondays, but system is asking me to pay €8 with Paypal. Do I enter a coupon code or is the payment refunded? David

Joe - just read Frank's response...I never read the cancellation mails, just deleted them, so don't have a code. You live and learn. I'll know for next time - is there any way you can resend me the cancellation codes so I can use my 2 free slots? Thanks

I have a couple of credits from swims that I cancelled on the system. Everytime I try to book a replacement session I get this message "Bookings have either not started yet or are now closed for this event." Am I doing something stupid?
